The Dragon's Eyes
The Dragons, captivating and mysterious wonders they are,
Have mastered some of the greatest arts.
Capable of travelling fast and far,
They can sail like glimmering rainbow darts.
Their secretive lives appear to be a fleeting run,
You must see through their jewel eyes if you are to understand.
Day by day they enjoy the sun,
Night by night they curl under stars like sand.
They can blow fire of every hue,
And they are the best in the ways of magic.
Their young can defend themselves as soon as they’re due,
So beware, or your fate may be most tragic.
Courted dragons will be devoted mates for eternity,
And together they strengthen their offspring in many ways.
Given their nature, dragons easily spark wars of catastrophe,
But despite their hot blood they live many more peaceful days.
For infinity these creatures can survive,
Growing huge and majestic with greying time.
But when they pass, the spirits of the entire world dive,
Taken by force or by loss of will, this is the last time that gemstone heart will chime.

This is beautiful!!! The presentation is wonderful, as well 
Sometimes you have to really go all out and make it appear as though it's a dragon poem even though reading it definitely confirms that 
The only bad thing about it is that it's hard to read!!! lol
