Living in the Land of Dragons

Description

Many years have passed, since the beginning of living a life as a dragon [link]. I am still young compared to some of those who live around me. It has been such a glorious experience, who knew that any of this could be possible. I felt strange for a time, abandoning my normal human form for so long, but knowing that my years spent here would be equivalent to only hours in my default reality gave me some relief.

My daily activities were, most of the time, carefree. I've seen so much of dragons that I never would've thought of. Dragons were masters of magic, their personalities were as varied as humans, they could be of any colour and shade, they ate meat but also a variety of vegetation, they enjoyed games, they were intelligent, they had senses that allowed them to dominate their world, they had laws and customs that they expected all to follow strictly... Their practices and lives were so different to any creature I had ever observed - then again, they were the first of the mythical creatures I would experience with the help of this device.

Lying down onto a large rock, warmed by the sun, I gazed over the forest with lazy eyes. "I could be here forever..." I thought. But a part of me knew, that even though a dragon's life was long and nearly infinite, I would have to return to my home... my true home... if I was to maintain my true identity and not become lost inside this... dream. I had already adopted my dragon body as the only body I owned, and I while I knew that was not a true fact, that was how I felt. Walking on all fours, with talons on each of my toes, a long tail that I could use for balance and as a whip, jaws full of sharp teeth, scales that glowed and sparkled in the sunlight... this was the body I had come to accept and love. If I was to do a comparison, I had spent more years of my life living as a dragon than as a human (I was never even that old when I transformed, being only a teenager).

What would happen to me once I finally returned, would I have to learn how to walk on two legs again? How to move my lips to speak? How to use my hand to hold? How to write? No... if I am to return in one piece, I must continue to remember who I am and not allow myself to get lost in this 'alternate reality'.

But there was one other problem that I have not worried about until now. The device never told me specifically how to return to my default form, and hence leave this world in a 'state of pause'. I contemplated for a while. Until eventually, by thought, feeling, and word of command... all went dark and I felt myself fade into nothing.

When I opened my eyes... I was in my room, my home, again. From now on I would know how to leave and return to each of my forms. I will return to the land of dragons another time...

:bulletpurple: A device, that has the ability to transport the user into a different world and alter them into a different form, is the reason for me appearing in the above form: read more about the device [link] . This form is a series of transformations/personas for myself... inspired by the things I find interesting (movies, stories, TV shows, etc).
